Today, Sam over at CheeeseToastieandVideoGames nominated Robo♥beat for a Liebster Blog Award, which is an awesome way to spread love for up-and-coming blogs with under 200 followers. If you haven’t checked out Sam’s blog yet, I highly recommend you do. She’s got gaming news, reviews, and even Let’s Play videos of games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, all of which you can find through her blog.
So… now it’s my turn to nominate five blogs. It’s been a while since I got to do this through an informal award like this, so I’m excited to participate again! Here are five of my favorite blogs with under 200 followers to check out:
Gamer Crash — Video game news, plus awesome round-ups of game footage and trailers every Saturday in case you need to catch up!
The Inquisitive Loon — All kinds of in-depth reviews, plus history! I was a history major, so I love the analysis of historical fiction films and TV (like The Tudors, etc).
Geek Appetite — A very fun geek blog, with everything from restaurant reviews to analysis about comics. Just be prepared for lots of food pictures and recipes that will make you hungry.
Counter Attack! — Fantastic video game news and reviews, plus a new podcast. And on Twitter, author Chuck has alerted me to a ridiculous number of Steam sales, which is always awesome.
Pixel Bubble — A blog that goes beyond reviewing games to really analyze the industry, etc. Also, its author apparently suffers from a passionate addiction to Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is really most apparent on Twitter.
One of my favorite things about blogging is feeling like part of a larger blogging community — and in my case, this larger community is usually as obsessed with movies, books, and video games as I am. So if you’re looking for great, geeky reading material, the blogs above definitely fit right into that genre.
